• The four men, like the four horsemen, are serious people. Folks you might not want to bother. Their wives and children both fear and love these men, hoping that one day they will let their guard down, and perhaps, show something in their faces or their bodies, which expresses an aspect of themselves beyond the projection of fear that their work requires. Something that hints at what they were like as children, when the wonder of sunshine or a pleasant rain was a time of unrestrained rejoicing. A time of running. A time of laughter.

  • At first I thought it was two strangers walking in silhouette casting their shadows against a wall… so it had me thinking about multiplicity  - that each person has different facets to their identity…yet looking closer I realized it’s actually four people. This realization of four figures added complexity to the narrative I was seeing. The figures all look like they don’t know each other, but it still appears that they are walking as a group. Not to mention the bridge in the background enhancing the overall depth of the image suggesting symbolism of connection & transition. It seems to evoke a powerful dialogue between light, shadow, and the essence of human experience. Such an odd interplay of light and  shadow.   Strange/Together. A striking visual!
